One thing he fails to see is that some people have deep levels of self hate ie: from childhood trauma, etc. And playing a well meaning tape over and over while you sleep will not do an ounce of good until the pain from the childhood trauma can be felt for what it is and then true growth can and will occur.

That is very perceptive, as I believe that he does this to help you with your own auto-suggestion process. Repetition programs the subconscious, and the subconscious brings these things into being through your actions, or inaction. Words and the mind that they echo within are very powerful. God gave us free will. Words have power, the power to bring joy, the power to bring pain, the power of life and death, if the right or wrong words are chosen. Think about it.

God has power and goodness, it is with this that created the world.
They are just words. I am broke means, that right now, in this moment, I have no money. Sometimes, within a moment, I am foolish. It is okay to own that with words, to be honest with one’s self in a particular moment.
